Project Scope
The Robe River port, Tartaruga Harbour at Cape Lambert, north of Karratha officially opened in 2006. Impact Communications provided specialist event management services for the formal opening onsite and dinner function for invited guests.
Our Action
One of the greatest challenges for Impact Communications was organising logistics for a remote event on a secure site.
60 guests were flown to Karratha and transported to Tartaruga Harbour. This select group included Rio Tinto personnel, key stakeholders and important international clients.
Impact greeted guests on arrival and ensured they were assigned personal protective equipment and passed through two security checks smoothly.
The harbour was officially opened by the Managing Director of Robe River with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, followed by a tour of the harbour site.
All equipment to hold the event including staging, AV and lighting was transported from Perth.
After the unveiling, guests attended the dinner function held at Point Samson. The remote location meant Impact faced a challenge to source a reputable caterer who could produce an exceptional dining experience that matched the calibre of guests attending. An excellent caterer was sourced, who designed a menu incorporating fresh locally sourced seafood and produce.
The Impact
Impact Communications successfully overcame the logistical challenges associated with organising an official event in a remote location of Western Australia. Impact received positive feedback from the Client, associates and guests who attended the launch.
